Evergreen Trees
Evergreen trees are, as the name suggests, a tree that retains its foliage throughout the year. They can however still shed leaves and other material as part of the growth process e.g. kowhai trees that lay down a bed of fine leaves underneath their canopy.
Evergreen trees can provide lasting barriers when needed and as such are an especially good choice where privacy or noise reduction is desirable.
Some popular evergreen trees in Canterbury include the portuguese laurel, the delightfully mediterranean olive, and several varieties of evergreen magnolia.
